Blizzard announced Diablo V during the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony with a teaser trailer and a release window of spring 2029.
While every previous Diablo was about stopping the end of Sanctuary, Diablo V starts after it. Blizzard describes this as a world where Diablo has triumphed and its heroes have been defeated, and the game's central question is "what must you become when the world has already fallen?"
Together with the Diablo V, Blizzard also confirmed a Diablo animated series by Netflix, the Amazon class coming to Diablo IV in the first half of 2027 as a paid class pack, a new Diablo IV season, Season of Hell's Legacy, launching September 15 with the return of Deckard Cain, and a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Diablo IV.
